Pictures Not From the Road

Day 1 is officially off to a not-quite flying start; we're 3 miles out from the Indiana border (481 total trip miles at 12:36 PM). There's still a fair bit of rain around, but not quite as much as last night. We're eating a combination of beef jerky and Mitali-designed orange bread -- our in-car food supply for making up some pre-lunch time. I've included some pictures of last night's festivities (including The Showing of Aubry's Mother's Day Card) and this morning's somewhat-epic Jedi fixing: we ended up with one new fuel filter, one air filter, two breather tubes, two fresh tires, four spark plugs, and a new thermostat. Unfortunately, we broke one tube while replacing another, resulting in a quick trip to fetch a replacement at the local Volkswagen dealership.
