Day One: Not Photo Dump

We're in California! Being the badasses that we are, and having the the dubious taste in restaurants that we do, we decided to hit up Taco Bell in Redding (our original destination) and then continue on to Sacramento. That's about 150 miles more than scheduled for today, so we'll have a bit more time tomorrow to play around in Yosemite. Today's drive was our longest yet: we started a bit before 10am, when we dropped off our keys to the Bromansion, and ended with our arrival at 11:15pm. Most of that time was well spent; we stopped only for gas, food, and a few minutes of frisbee throwage. We were able to avoid most of the Portland traffic by detouring past Atomic Pizza, which was tasty and, as a fringe benefit, put Ray to sleep for most of the afternoon. We clocked our Taco Bell dinner at about 15 minutes, so that barely added to the schedule.

I'm having a hard time remembering today's details. It was very uneventful. Aside form Mount Shasta, which looked very impressive, we didn't see any major landmarks. We got sprinkled on once or twice near the OR-CA border, so our 'yet to drive a day without rain' streak continues. Oh and we drove on non-premium gas for a whole tank! Gasp.
