  1. I'd skip Hoover - it was boring and the traffic to get out there was incredibly bad (stop and go for 2 hours from LV). Of course, we went on the Saturday after Thanksgiving so your milage may vary.

    Also, there is an amazing view about an hour and a half into the Halfdome hike. It's way better than what you can see from the visitor center. You could actually run up Halfdome - we saw the Cal running team do that and it was super demoralizing to the normal people they passed.

  2. Ok, first since you're going through my home state I insist that you abbreviate it correctly--Arkansas is AR, not AK, which is Alaska. Second, driving through Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee is going to be boring, so stock up on those Knuth motivational speeches and sipser audio books. Enjoy the road!

  3. @MH: Hmmmm. Forest Gump could do it, maybe you have a good point there.

    @Iz: Yeah, I think we'll be safe on a tuesday morning in August. Plus its right on our route. Halfdome sounds cool. Any other advise to Yosemite?

    @Zak: Good call.
